Register for these camps at www.VashonAlliedArts.org.

Clay camps are way cool!

It's fun to come together as a group, share our knowledge, get our hands in the clay, use the tools, express our unique interests and observations through the clay.

This summer's themes:

Flower Power! for ages 4-5

A Dazzle of Zebras for ages 6-10

Tropical Breeze for ages 6-10

Mythical Creatures for ages 6-10

Archways, Alcoves and Facades: Teen Clay Intensive for ages 11-15

Older teens will be on board as teaching interns for the camps.

Winter/Spring 2011 : Highlights of a busy studio

Winter/Spring 2011 : Highlights of a busy studio

This winter/spring session in the studio has been hopping with over 60 pottery enthusiasts sharing the studio over the course of the season!

Penguin sculptures, crab tiles (on display at the Vashon Bookshop) and rock bowls with the preschoolers from the Barbie School…

a lovely afternoon in the studio with friends making sun plaques from multi colored stoneware clay bodies (on display in the Vashon Bookshop hallway)….

a high energy after-school kids class sculpting alligators, constructing dream houses and “sgraffito”-ing fish banks with great style (“sgraffito”: carving through one color to the color, or ground, below)…..

two full classes of adults and a teen class all working with earthenware clay this session and experimenting with various surface design techniques. Everyone has been very productive and enthusiastic, building slab boxes (on display at the Heron’s Nest for the month of April) many unique slump molded plates, and throwing pots on the wheels.….

The studio is full of color!!!
